Q&A

Q: What is the main principle and operation of air mattress?
A: Alternating inflation/deflation function of air mattress mainly is divided into two major categories of alternating two ways and three ways.
  • The alternating of two ways is a group of two cells, one tube is inflated, and the other tube is deflated to relieve the pressure on the skin/muscles. The three ways alternately are a group of three cells, maintaining the two tubes inflated and one tube deflated.
  • The three ways alternately have more body area to contact the tubes than the two ways. However, under normal use conditions, there is no significant difference between the two methods of relieve pressure. For comfort, a three ways alternating air mattress is better.

Q: What is air mattress’construction?
A: Air Mattress Construction- It consists of "alternatively inflated electric air pump" and "tubular air cells set". The electric air pump controls the tubular air cells group in turn, and alternately inflates and deflates, so as to avoid the continuous compression of the skin of the whole body and cause poor blood circulation.

Q: What is air pressure mattress? What is pressure injury?
A: Prevention bedsore air pressure mattress(medical purpose) is different from a regular mattress, it is carefully designed for the people which is bedridden or disabled which unable to easily change position while seated or in bed, to reduce and prevent the risk of pressure ulcers development.
Pressure sores occur when an individual lying or sitting a long period of time and keep at the same position, and the local skin is subjected to single factor or comprehensive factors such as pressure, shearing force, friction, temperature, humidity, etc., the blood circulation of the skin is poor and oxygen is deficient, resulting in skin local redness, broken skin, it will form pressure injury, and then the ulcer, necrotic tissue.
Bedsores most often develop on skin that covers bony areas of the body, such as the back of head, the elbow, tailbone, hips, heels and ankles. Actually, it is not hard to prevent the bedsores, bedsores can develop quickly. Most sores heal with treatment, but some never heal completely. Alternating Pressure Mattresses are ideal designed for pressure ulcer prevention, ulcer therapy, providing the therapeutic benefit of pressure relief and skin moisture management. Alternates inflation and deflation of cells to constantly change pressure points and promote circulation, also could reduce the heavy burden of the caregiver.
